The Barbow was the spring board to firing this company to life.
As children we built a treehouse in the fields next to our house. A secret escape from our parents and a place where we probably weren’t allowed to have big bonfires. The flames would be dancing and the camp fire stories would be flowing. This is where we believe our love for fire originated.
Nothing quite beats a camp fire evening shared with family and friends. A time to share stories, cook delicious food and an excuse to have a few too many gins. haha.
Pingewood Barbow in Satin Black Finish
One cold winters evening, whilst being attacked by smoke from a poxy little fire that knowingly is going to have to be replaced next season, a question became apparent… why are we settling for this just because this is the industry norm?
Upon investigating and researching, we couldnt find anything that suited our preferences. This ignited the starting sketches of the Barbow which has become one of our best selling fires to date.
Pingewood Barbow in Cor-Ten Steel
Three years of design, re-engineered from the base up.
Good design always looks right. Not only did we want to create an incredibly well performing fire but a fire that becomes a garden sculpture in its own right.
Carefully andmeticulously designed to produce as little smoke spillage as possible so that you don’t end up smelling like a bonfire after long use. A tried and tested solution that has been calculated in our Pingewood lab.
We also wanted to create a fire that could withstand the outdoors season after season. A pre-assembled and pre-rusted fire (depending on your finish variant) with other manufacturers being sold as a flat pack fire.
An optimised flue exit height to increase draw which creates a beautiful flame effect and moves all of the smoke and debris up and away from the area. Sitting at a height above a gazebo so that the user can enjoy the flames with a flue.
A fire that is the large enough to have a small camp fire with the ability to really ramp up the heat output.
The correct fire opening height and size was essential to us. We wanted to create an immersive view without the and something that we couldn’t findWe also found that fire within the industry are at the completely wrong viewing level. When standing or sitting down.
A durable and professionally crafted outdoor fire.
The Barbow is available in Satin Black and Cor-Ten steel which naturally oxidises to create a beautiful rust pattern.
